Kanha National Park is located in the Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh. Occupying an area of over 1,940-sq-km, the park is also one of the Tiger Reserves of India. The park is open from mid-February to June and mid-November to mid-February. It is closed from July to November due to the monsoons.

By Rail: The nearest railhead is at Jabalpur. It is 169 km away from the Kanha National Park.

By Road: Kanha National Park is well connected by bus service with Jabalpur, Khajuraho, Nagpur, Mukki and Raipur.
